Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy is published by LIMINGX GLOBAL INC., trading as Drip & Ember, and applies to orders placed through our storefront. We keep this under review and will post any change here.
Effective date: the date this policy is published on our storefront. If we revise it, the new version takes effect the day it appears there. Any notice under this section may be given by email or through our storefront.
What this policy covers
Drip & Ember sells drippers, kettles and serving ware and needs a small amount of information to take an order, get it to you and answer you afterwards. This policy explains what we hold, why we hold it and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the storefront, the checkout and the messages exchanged afterwards.
Information you give us
The information Drip & Ember cannot operate without is the information you supply at checkout and in any message to us after it. Only what the order actually needs is requested.
- The details needed to deliver a coffee piece: name, delivery address, an email address for confirmations, and a telephone number if the carrier needs to reach you.
- What you ordered: the specific coffee piece, its variant, the price at the moment of purchase, and the delivery option you picked.
- The result of the payment for your coffee piece, the final four digits of the card used, and the billing address. The full card number is handled by the payment provider and never reaches us.
- Messages you send us about drippers, kettles and serving ware: a question before ordering, a return request, or photographs documenting a chipped spout, or a kettle lid that no longer seats in the rim.
- If you open an account: an email address, a password we keep only as a hash, and addresses you choose to save for the next coffee piece.
- Any gift note or delivery instruction you attach to a coffee piece order.
Information collected automatically
While you browse, our storefront and the platform beneath it record technical information. When Drip & Ember reads that data it is aggregated or attached to an order number rather than to a person, except where we need it to investigate a failed checkout or suspected fraud. The data is read in aggregate rather than per person.
- The browser and operating system you use, the size of the window, your language setting, and the rough location an IP address implies while browsing drippers, kettles and serving ware.
- Which product pages and collections listing drippers, kettles and serving ware were opened, the route by which you reached us, and what you searched for while here.
- Basket activity around drippers, kettles and serving ware: creation, the start of checkout, and the step at which an unfinished checkout was abandoned.
- How you found our drippers, kettles and serving ware: a link, a campaign tag or a search result.
- Settings such as currency and region for drippers, kettles and serving ware, kept so the store does not ask you again on the following page.
- Checks our payment provider performs on the device and the transaction pattern before approving payment for drippers, kettles and serving ware.
How we use it
Drip & Ember uses your information for the ordinary work of selling drippers, kettles and serving ware: taking payment, packing and sending the order, and dealing with what happens after it arrives. Each purpose traces back to an order or a legal duty.
- Getting the order out: assembling a coffee piece, labelling it, handing it to a carrier with the address it needs.
- Taking payment for drippers, kettles and serving ware, checking it is genuine, and returning it if the order is cancelled or returned.
- Support: replying to a message about drippers, kettles and serving ware, chasing a carrier, arranging a replacement where a chipped spout, or a kettle lid that no longer seats in the rim occurred.
- Measuring the drippers, kettles and serving ware pages so that one nobody can use gets noticed and repaired.
- An occasional message about new arrivals in drippers, kettles and serving ware, sent only with your agreement.
- Record-keeping that tax and company law obliges us to do, held for the period those rules set, covering every coffee piece sold.
- Protecting the store from automated abuse, card testing and tampering around the coffee piece checkout.
Who we share it with
Drip & Ember does not sell customer information and does not rent it to advertisers. It passes to other companies only where one of them must act on the order — a payment that has to clear, a parcel that has to move, a message that has to arrive — or where the law requires it. Each party receives the minimum its task requires.
- Delivery companies receive the name, address and contact number required to hand over drippers, kettles and serving ware, and nothing beyond that.
- The payment provider sees the amount for drippers, kettles and serving ware, the card and the billing address. We see only whether the charge was approved.
- Transactional email for drippers, kettles and serving ware is delivered through a service that holds your address in order to send it.
- Accountants and, where legally compelled, a court or regulator may receive coffee piece records relevant to a specific matter.
- Risk screening at checkout, which reviews device and transaction signals for drippers, kettles and serving ware before an order is released.
- Hosting and infrastructure suppliers operate the servers the coffee piece catalogue sits on, under a processing agreement.
- In a sale, merger or restructuring, coffee piece order records may move with the business and remain governed by this policy.
Platform and operations partners: Shopify. Payment processing: Shopify Payments. Analytics: Shopify Analytics. A disclosure compelled by law is limited to what is demanded.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files your browser stores on our behalf. Drip & Ember uses two kinds: those the storefront cannot work without, and those that help us understand how it is used. You can clear or block them in your browser at any time; blocking the first kind will stop the checkout from completing. Blocking the essential set stops checkout completing.
- Session cookies — keep you signed in and preserve the basket between pages; they expire when the browser closes.
- Cart cookies — remember what you added so the basket survives a refresh or a return visit.
How long we keep it
Drip & Ember keeps order records for as long as tax and consumer-protection rules require, and everything else only while it serves a purpose. Browsing data is held for a short rolling period; correspondence is kept until the question it relates to is settled, and then for as long as a warranty on the same piece could still be claimed. Records tied to a completed order outlive those tied to a visit.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see what Drip & Ember holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to receive a copy in a portable format, or to object to a particular use. We honour these requests wherever you write from, provided we can confirm the request is yours. Requests are free and answered within the legal period.
- To be told what is held about you, covering every coffee piece you have bought from us.
- To have inaccurate details put right, including a delivery address on a drippers, kettles and serving ware order that has not yet shipped.
- To have drippers, kettles and serving ware records removed where no statutory retention duty applies.
- To receive what you supplied for drippers, kettles and serving ware in a format you can take elsewhere.
- To object to a specific use, marketing about drippers, kettles and serving ware above all.
- To have drippers, kettles and serving ware records held in place, unused, until a dispute is settled.
- To withdraw consent at any time for drippers, kettles and serving ware marketing, prospectively.
We answer within the period local law allows. If we need more time we will say why before it expires. If the answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the data-protection authority where you live. Deletion is limited only by a statutory retention duty.
Marketing messages
Drip & Ember sends order confirmations and dispatch notices because an order cannot be completed without them; those are not marketing and no opt-out affects them. News about new drippers, kettles and serving ware is sent only where you have asked for it, and every one of those messages carries a one-click unsubscribe. Order notifications are unaffected by any marketing preference.
Where your information is processed
Drip & Ember may use service providers whose systems sit outside your country. Where information crosses a border, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer — standard contractual terms, or an adequacy decision covering the destination — and we choose providers that publish what they do. Transfer mechanisms are chosen rather than assumed.
Children
Our store is intended for adults. Drip & Ember does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their country and does not market drippers, kettles and serving ware to children. If you believe a child has placed an order or sent us details, contact us and we will delete the record. No date of birth is requested or stored.
How we protect it
Drip & Ember keeps the store on a hosted platform that encrypts traffic between your browser and the server, and card details never reach our own systems. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to pack an order or answer a question. Card numbers never reach our systems.
Changes to this policy
If Drip & Ember changes how it handles customer information, this page is updated and the effective date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on the storefront before they take effect, and orders already placed continue under the version that applied when they were placed. The version in force is the one published when the order was accepted.
